Been there, Dane, done that....wasn't my parents' fault, though. Never entirely trust your financial or legal information to your financial advisor(s) or lawyer(s). It's YOUR money and YOUR business, stick your nose into it and demand the right thing be done. And don't be afraid to ask for a second or even third opinion!
Sometimes they do this "just because" they think they can get away with it. Other times, it's someone whose using their identity. I've had BOTH problems.
